Cell Group Strategies, by Charlene Johnson

When we talk about cell groups—the church which normally is an inviting church, becomes a church that is invading. Not that you remove the inviting edge from the church, but our perception turns toward the ministry outside the four walls of the church. Effective life/cell group ministry moves you from a come and see ministry (spectator) to a Go into all the world and impact lives ministries. The word invade means to enter forcibly or hostilely, it also means to come into as an n enemy, to crowd into to throng. The word invasion is an entering or being entered by an attacking military force. Calvary Christian Center as a Cell group ministry becomes a force to be reckoned with. We invade our market places, or neighborhoods, our schools with the loving message of the gospel of Jesus Christ—we become a church without walls. The Pastors job becomes easier because everyone has caught the spirit of G-12 and has been called and ordained to touch other lives that they come in contact to.
Cell/Life groups are small groups made up of people who meet together @least once a week, focusing on the word of God and the purpose of development. A cell group includes--A Host, A leader, an assistant, and the participants. I love the analogy here of cells in our body as it relates to Cell groups in a church. The biological cell is a basic building block of life. Healthy cells multiply themselves millions of times in the course of a lifetime. Each new cell looks identical to the original cell because the DNA branded nucleus multiplies itself before the cell reproduces. In this way, the new cell is as healthy and productive as the original cell in its given role. The cells work together as organs, muscles, bone and skin to make the body function as a true miracle from God. A spiritual cell group is very similar to a biological cell. Followers of Jesus Christ edify one another and increase the kingdom by sharing their lives with unbelievers. New leaders are raised up from within the group (with the support and training by their pastoral staff) to grow and expand the ministry to a hurting world. When the group multiplies, the process repeats itself.

· Mark 2:1-4, 11—Jesus performed miracles here in this house.
· Ezekiel 47:1-8—the further out the water flows, the more miracles signs and wonders happened. More miracles, signs and wonders happen in cell groups if they are filled with the unsaved.
· John 7:38—the gifts of the spirit flow out of the one who opens a cell group
